St. Johns native, Mat Randol who grew up in his family home across the street from the park on Calhoun Ave. is demanding different. He’s teamed up with the Donovan Scribes of the Gentrification is WEIRD! platform to work with community to help vision a new, accessible site out of George that reflects both the neighborhood legacy and future of this park.
“Our goal is to make George Park a place for everyone to enjoy. We want to provide a fun experience for kids as well as adults and to not be restricted. In it’s current form it’s kind of like an oversized dog park right now although there isn’t anything wrong with that. I just want a place for my son to play that’s close by our home.”

Thank you who made the inaugural The Kidz Outside Festival such a success in summer 2022. It was great to see George Park filled up with so many kids, families neighbors, and supporters in a way that it never has been before. We are looking forward to being out there with you all again for TKO Fest 2 next summer as we continue to our quest to make a new beginning for George Park!
